BARCELONA: Celta Vigo won 1-0 at Levante to provisionally escape the relegation zone in the Spanish league with its first back-to-back victories of the season.
Celta forward Augusto Fernandez turned in Michael Krohn-Dehli’s lobbed pass with a header to score the winner in the 20th minute on Saturday.
Levante forward Jose Barkero squandered a golden chance to level when he drove a penalty kick wide in the 55th.
Levante has lost four straight, its worst streak under coach Juan Ignacio Martinez in his two seasons in charge.
Later, Barcelona can clinch its 22nd Spanish league title by winning at Athletic Bilbao and with Atletico Madrid breaking its 24-game winless run against Real Madrid.
