A Japanese women’s delegation representing the educational, academic and diplomatic sector paid a visit to Effat University in Jeddah, on the sidelines of the recent official visit of Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe to the Kingdom.
Japan’s First Lady Akie Abe headed the 11-women delegation.
The delegation commended Saudi Arabia’s quantum leap in various fields, particularly in women’s education sector.
Thanks to comprehensive studied plans the Kingdom has succeed in establishing joint academic partnerships and cooperation deals with Japanese universities and other universities all over the world.
Japan’s first lady expressed her admiration of the development of women’s higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia. She pointed to the powerful achievements of Saudi women in the fields of economy, education and cognitive skills, which are highly observed and applauded worldwide.
Princess Loulwa Al-Faisal, vice chairperson of Effat University’s board of founders and board of trustees and general supervisor of the institution, Assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and General Supervisor of Effat University Princess Noura Al-Faisal, President of Effat University Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, the university’s Vice President Houria Oodgarai and the faculty deans received the delegation upon arrival.
The delegation and its hosts discussed Effat’s involvement in producing qualified professionals for the Saudi workforce.
The Japanese delegation also lauded the university’s unique experience in offering scientific disciplines that were previously exclusive to men, such as engineering.
