A total of 142 students graduated with medical degrees from the Batterjee Medical College (BMC) for science and technology here Tuesday.
They took their oaths in the presence of Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed; Sobhi Abduljaleel Batterjee, president of the board of directors; Khalid Abduljaleel Batterjee, dean of BMC college; Hawazan Metawe, vice dean of the females section; and Hassan Shaibah, vice dean of academic affairs. Parents, students and guests also attended the ceremony on the premises of the college.
Shaibah said 61 students received degrees in medicine, 44 in physical therapy, 19 in medical radiology and 18 in health care administration. The academic staff was led by Khalid Batterjee and the graduates by the honors students.
Sobhi Batterjee thanked Prince Mishaal for his support. He said the graduation ceremony would remain a high point in the lives of the graduates and their families.
“Today is a successful day for us and our students who are going to serve the country and nation. This is an important stage of their academic careers and will open new doors for more achievements,” he said.
He thanked Allah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and the country’s other leaders for helping the Ministry of Higher Education support the private higher education sector.
