A channel for the employment of scholarship students was launched by Labor Minister Adel Fakeih during a job fair in Washington yesterday.
“The channel will serve King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship students as well as other Saudi graduates inside the Kingdom,” said Ibrahim Al-Moaiqel, director general of the Human Resource Development Fund.
“Through this channel we can offer thousands of jobs to Saudi graduates who have completed their studies in universities in the US and Canada,” he said.
He hoped that more than 2,000 students would visit the fund’s pavilion at the Washington Job Fair, which was organized for the benefit of Saudi scholarship students in the West.
“We have adopted the latest systems that would help employers assess the graduates’ skills and capabilities and take a quick decision on their employment,” Al-Moaiqel said.
He said the channel was providing its services to both graduates and prospective employers free of charge. The channel will provide additional services such as electronic assessment tests, summer training and job planning.
Meanwhile, Fakeih would open a social dialogue forum in Jeddah today to discuss wage levels and policies in the private sector. Attended by labor ministry officials, workers and company executives, the forum will discuss minimum wage, and ways of improving the Kingdom’s job market.
