World’s largest LED television arrives in Saudi Arabia

Sharp Middle East FZE, part of Sharp Corporation, brings the world’s largest commercially available television, the 90-inch Aquos LED to the Middle East market.
The much anticipated product, Sharp’s 90-inch wall of entertainment is a breathtaking marvel of technology, which weighs a mere 64 kg, and roughly measures 2 m in width, and 1.2 m in height with a diagonal screen size of more than 2.2 m (90 inches).
The 90-inch Aquos LED television was unveiled during an exclusive regional event hosted by Sharp in Jeddah.
The launch was attended by Sharp’s distributor top management team, ALJ Electronics and Air Conditioning Co. Ltd., Hisham J. Hamza — CCEO and Venkat P.— managing director and the local media.
As the innovator of LCD technology, which is the basis of modern day LCD and LED TVs, Sharp’s unique proposition is leading the demand in the regional market for the large-screen TV segment.
“What differentiates us from our competition is our lead and superiority in LED/LCD technology, which together with our brand values, help us offer consumers state-of-the-art products priced to meet their aspirations,” said Manu Mahdi, general manager — consumer electronics division at Sharp Middle East FZE.
Sharp is pioneering cost-effective LED TV productions from Sakai City, Japan, where the company has the world’s only tenth generation LCD factory.
“The 90 inch Aquos LED TV will be available through ALJ Etx. at a price of (SR 79,999),” said Mahdi. “Sharp, a leader in the large-size TV segment has taken the regional market by storm and has reached a market share of more than 60 percent for the large TV segment of 60 inches and above,” said Mahdi.
“With more than 25 thousands of Sharp televisions, large size AQUOS TVs already sold across the region, we believe the new 90 inch AQUOS LED TV completes our product offering in the Kingdom, now ranging from 60-inch to 90-inch TVs”, said Venkat P. — managing director at ALJ Etx.
“The 90-inch Aquos LED TV will be available through ALJ Etx. at leading retail outlets,” he confirmed.
The 90” Aquos LED TV, with its X-Gen Panel Technology, will feature a number of differentiating characteristics.
