SYDNEY: On his first trip Down Under, Brad Pitt says Australia’s even better than it looks on TV.
Pitt was welcomed at the premiere yesterday of his latest movie, “World War Z,” in Sydney by hundreds of cheering fans.
While signing autographs and posing for photos with them, he’s admitted he can’t believe it’s taken him so long to visit Australia.
“It’s even better than it looks on TV,” he said yesterday evening, adding that he didn’t know when he’d return.
“We have to go where the work takes us, but we’d like to.”
Pitt, 49, arrived in Sydney with his nine-year-old son, Pax, but sans partner Angelina Jolie and the rest of their brood. Pitt said it was a whirlwind visit but that he hoped he would have another chance to return to Australia in the future.
Australian fans shouldn’t expect any surprise appearances at local screenings like Pitt has done in the US. He says this will be a quick trip.
“We’re in and out here. We’re in for a BBQ and then out to South Korea for another BBQ to compare,” he says.
“We’ve had good fun.”
