Bowling City scores double in Sarawat Thursday League

Host team Bowling City made it to the Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week honor roll during the 17th session in the Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League 9th Season at the Sultanah Center’s Bowling City here.
The host bowlers returned the top tally of 27 points and Jimmy Urbano completed a Bowling City double when he rolled the high series of 644 to claim the Bowler of the Week award.
Boleros looked set to run away with the No. 1 spot with two weeks left in the eliminations, compiling the second-best total of 23 points with D’ Barkads and Escalera tied on 22.
Habagat pooled 16 points, while OFBC, Kabayan Food and Thumbs-up were the last three teams to check in on 14, 12 and 8 points.
Bowling City warded off its rivals for honors with a consistent display that it topped off by claiming the top overall output on 2,852.
Urbano led the Bowling City charge, hitting games of 223, 198 and 196 to pace teammates Pancho Cuevas 577, Carlos Constantino and Tommy de Castro 526. Jeff San Pedro added 185-172 and Archie Santos 200.
Boleros, the second game winner, drew a boost from the trio of Jack Jarin, Elo Manalo and Ruben Grino who tallied 576, 545 and 510 respectively. Contributing two games each were Bonnie Garcia 195-191, Nanding Siasoco 157-235 and Jess Cerbito 163-200.
D’ Barkads, solidly in second place in the team standings, had Romy Bunagan shooting the leading score of 600 that went with the 585 by Leo Edejer, 571 by Nap Patayan, 542 by Bing Amolo, 170-179 by Ladio Gonzales and 172 by Rey Beltran.
Cesar Pagtalunan showed the way at bottom team Escalera with a 557 followed by Dylan Ilagan 548 and Mac Galang 545. Ally Bin, Edward Butaro and Frank Afurong each had two games of 167-197, 155-159 and 244-203.
Bash Langa and Jun de Dios led Habagat on 577 and 576.
