Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Abdullah Al-Jasir will explore efforts of the Kingdom in disseminating the culture of peace at a forum to be organized at the United Nations, New York, in the first week of September, Saudi Press Agency said.
Jasir will present a work paper at the forum to highlight in depth the enormous efforts undertaken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Saudi government in enhancing understanding and cooperation between cultures and peoples of the world.
The paper will touch on the Kingdom’s efforts through two major themes: The first will deal with Kingdom’s support and encouragement to the culture of dialogue and non-violence between followers of different religions and cultures in the world. This theme will also explore initiatives sponsored by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at Islamic level at the Makkah Conference and at global level at Madrid Conference and the creation of King Abdullah center for dialogue between followers of different religions and cultures in 2011, the agency said.
The second theme will touch on the Kingdom’s efforts in disseminating the culture of peace through hosting the international conference on fighting terror in Riyadh in 1425 and the establishment of the international anti-terror center in Riyadh where the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques donated $10 million in support of the said center, the agency said.
