Saudi Telecom Company (STC) announced that it has won the ISO 9001:2008 in management and operation of world data center services specialized in quality management systems.
Khalid Al-Bayari, senior VP for technology and operations, STC, said: “This accomplishment is a continuation of STC’s concern for raising the level of all services and management, and organizational processes by adhering to the world metrics and standards that rest on meeting and delivering services that feature quick response to customer needs. Furthermore, the world quality recognition of STC reflects its commitment to adopting the best quality standards at all operational levels wherever it was present.”
Khalid Al-Bayari said: “Winning of this certification by STC from SAI Global, a non-profit organization, is an international standard that reflects the commitment of the company toward valuation of quality management and the services provided to customers in accordance with up-to-date e-systems in a way that realizes the goals of the company of enhancing its various technical works as well as commitment to the world standards in information technology.”
STC says it is the first organization that has obtained the ISO 9001:2008 in the management of data centers in Saudi Arabia and the third in the Middle East outrunning the telecom operators in the Kingdom’s market.
STC earlier received the world-class certification TIER4 2010 for Jeddah Data Center in addition to the world-class certification from Uptime Institute, the top organization in the world for classification of data centers.
This coincides with the continuous orientation of STC of providing cloud computing and co-location services to enterprises and government authorities as it is preparing three largest data centers at the regional level in Riyadh and Dammam.
