Versatile Guys enjoyed a perfect double in winning a breakthrough Team of the Week award during the 10th session in the OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League 2nd Season at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
It marked the third straight week the perfect 28 total win points fell as Versatile Guys shut out Pair & Spares 20-0 with Tirso Bambalan completing a Versatile double when he ran away with the men’s Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 662 on scratch games of 191, 191 and 178.
The award was the the first for beginning bowler Bambalan, while on the distaff side youthful Carms Lim captured her sixth ladies Bowler of the Week accolade with a 594 that, however, failed to stop her team Youngsters Revival from taking a 12-8 defeat at the hands of Makatifoods on total pinfalls of 1,649-1,690, rank points of 3-4 and total win points of 15-12.
RJ Transient Houses hammered out a 14-6 triumph over The Replacement on total pinfalls of 1,717-1760, rank points of 7-5 and win points of 21-11.
Jack Jarin shot the second-highest score of 637 at the helm of RJ with skipper Rudy Jamon on 538, Joel Nidoy 187 and Ric Tibayan 163-179.
League leader Red Dragons played a relaxed pressure-free game against the bye team for an automatic 20 match points. Their total pinfalls of 1,720 gave them rank points of 6 to finish the session on 26 total win points.
Danny Atubang was the only other player to go the distance at Versatile on 544 in support of Bambalan, while Joel Alegre added 154-183 and Danny Francisco had 246.
The Red Dragons’ Arman Gamboa, another Class D bowler like Bambalan, distinguished himself as the third highest scorer on the day with 601 on lines of 157, 189 and 159. Bash Langa contributed 565, Tom Langa had 133-186 and Thong 139 for the Dragons.
Benj Espinosa and Usman de Guzma led Makatifoods on 575 and 532. Lester Atienza made 177 and Jameel Gabrera added 134-205.
