Maxim Jamjoom, Fireberkz outclass rivals in OFBL Friday Morning League

Opening day winners Fireberkz of Bracket A and Maxim Jamjoom of Bracket B Non Rated Division continued to play consistent basketball, as they outclassed their respective opponents to take their campaign off to a good 2-0 start in the OFBL 4th Conference Friday Morning League at Timeout Sports Academy Gymnasium, on Television St. , Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah last Friday.
Maxim Jamjoom played a superior second half, after trailing at halftime by 2 points, and went on to win by 8 points over Puzakals 74-64.
Abulencia had an outstanding performance for Maxim, netting a team-high 41 points. He almost single-handedly carried his team and was adjudged Jollibee Best Player of the game.
Gemino posting 18 points, combined well with Abulencia as their tandem produced the total 27 points (13 for Abulencia and 14 for Gemino) in the third quarter. Sernal led the way for Puzakals with 19 points.
Fireberkz set the tone early, posting 23-15 advantage in the first period, and further outscored VKH Brothers in the successive periods to comfortably seal the game with a 32 points margin, 79-47.
Ruzzel Mangalindan backed up his great opening game, with another excellent skillful performance, to top-score for Fireberkz with 21 points, and won the Best Player award the second time around.
Oliver Reyes also had an exceptional game with 19 points, using his pace well and shooting well. George Espina chipped in 12 points, rebounded well and defended effectively for Fireberkz. The losing team was headed by Tobeo with 14 points.
Meanwhile, in the other Bracket A game, OBS routed Jollibee 77-62. It was a close match in the first 3 quarters, but OBS played as a team in the deciding period, all players were involved in the offense and applied tough defense, to increase their lead at a secured level till the end of the game.
Yang received the Jollibee Best Player of the game award, as he spearheaded OBS offense with 19 points. He got valuable contibutions from Sipat who scored 16 points and Cayanan who had 12 points. The losing team had 14 points from No. 35 player, followed by Moy Bantillan 13 points and Callueng 8 points.
In the Bracket B Division, Rexonin team, held an edge in each quarter and posted a good win over Yummy Yummy 70-62.
Sumikiab tallied 24 points and was pronounced the Best Player of the Game, together with Abella 16 points and Tuson 13, they led the winning team. Yummy got 15 points from Subas, 14 points from Faurillo and 11 from Makuha.
