Firearms smuggling attempt foiled in Jazan

Border Guards in the Addayer area of Jazan foiled an attempt to smuggle firearms and ammunition through Saudi-Yemeni borders, but were unable to catch the smugglers, who fled toward Yemen’s borders.
“They left what they were carrying and fled back to where they came from,” said Gen. Abdulaziz Al-Subhi, Jazan’s Border Guard commander.
He said the smugglers were spotted by a patrol that prevented the smuggling of 118 pistols and 235 magazines.
Meanwhile, Makkah’s Border Guard held an roleplaying exercise on Wednesday where a especial unit rescued a crew from a ship hijacked by pirates.
The unit raided the vessel and got the hostages out of it. Later, they docked the ship at the Jeddah Islamic Port.
