Over 2,000 kg of rotten food seized in Baha

Field teams from the Al-Qura Municipality in Al-Baha have seized more than 2,029 kg of spoiled food products that are unfit for human consumption and closed down three warehouses for violating public health regulations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Teams from the Al-Qura Municipality carried out a five-day health campaign last week on food firms, eateries and restaurants and detected irregularities in several stores, said Jaman Al-Hilali, Al-Qura Municipality mayor.
Irregularities included poor hygiene, poor food storage and expired food, he said. Twenty-one shops were found to be in violation of standards, three of which were closed. and five workers were banned, he said.
Al-Hilali affirmed that campaigns would continue on stores and eateries to ensure that they adhere to rules and regulations.
