Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, will chair the awarding ceremony of the King Faisal International Prize (KFIP) in Riyadh on Sunday on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah.
The KFIP, this year, will recognize achievements in the categories of service to Islam, Islamic studies, Arabic language, medicine and science (mathematics).
Prize winners will each receive a cash endowment of $200,000 and a 24-carat gold medal weighing 200 grams, one of the Arab world’s most generous awards.
