Malabar Gold expands further in Kerala, Gujarat

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, a major jewelry retailer, expanded its presence in the southern Indian state of Kerala by reopening its Thalassery outlet; the jewelry retailer relocated its outlet to more spacious and bigger space.
The relocated outlet on A.V.K. Nair Road was inaugurated by Panakkad Sayyid Hyderali Shihab Thangal in the presence of M.P. Ahamad, chairman, Malabar Group, on April 12 amid other directors, media representative and invitees.
The group expanded further in the western Indian state of Gujarat by opening a new outlet at a location near Panchavati Circle, C.G. Road, Ahmedabad, which was opened by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, in the presence of Ahamad, Asher, group executive director, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, on April 13.
The outlet in Ahmedabad is the 113th outlet of Malabar Gold & Diamonds worldwide and 2nd in Gujarat.
Their branded jewelry collection includes Era — uncut diamond jewelry, Ethnix — handcrafted designer jewelry, Mine — diamonds unlimited, Divine — Indian heritage jewelry, Precia — precious gem jewelry and Starlet — kids jewelry.
The retail chain has 113 outlets worldwide, out of which 75 are in India, 37 in the GCC and 1 outlet in Singapore. At present Malabar Gold & Diamonds have 2 showrooms in Rajkot and Ahmedabad, in Gujarat. A few more are planned in Vadodara and Surat in the coming years.
The group also represents the Far East with 1 outlet in Singapore and now they are looking for expansion in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia. The group is also planning to spread their wings to European markets starting with the UK and the United States.
When it comes to CSR activities, the group is in the forefront. It has set apart 10 percent of its net profit to the benefit of needy and focus primarily in five priority areas such as health, education, environment, housing and women empowerment.
