The mega Indian elections are over and the winner is Narendra Modi. After over 30 years India has got a majority government.
It happens only in India that a tea vendor leaps to the top post of the country. Cheers to the vibrant Indian democracy.
Modi won purely due to his development agenda. As evident from the election campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), religious or communal issues have taken a backseat.
Perhaps it is for the first time in the history of Indian politics that a single man was projected than the party. BJP’s tactics, however, paid off.
Modi won purely due to the efforts of foot soldiers of his party and through the effective use of technology and social media.
Opponents of Modi use terms like ethnic cleansing, murderer and Muslim militancy etc. I urge such people to introspect before bashing Modi.
It would be very naïve to assume that Indian Muslims did not vote for the BJP. Indian Muslims have voted for development and we fully believe BJP will roll out plans to have inclusive growth as promised in their manifesto.
This victory has offered a golden opportunity to BJP, to ensure development of all sections of society. For long, Congress and its regional allies have ensured the Muslims of UP and Bihar do not develop, riots were engineered to instill fear and insecurity. Leaders like Mulayam Singh, Azam Khan and Abu Azmi must leave politics and look for other professions.
People who still feel, Indian Muslims will agitate and take to the path of violence are not ready to face the reality. India is a multicultural society; violence has no place in it. — Bhaskara Sujeet Kumar, Riyadh
