ABHA: Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammed bin Naif visited Asir on Monday and met with the families of those martyred in Thursday’s suicide bombing at the Special Emergency Forces Center Mosque in Asir.
He stated that he had been delegated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to offer his sincere condolences to the bereaved families.
“Anyone who tries to tamper with the security of the Kingdom and its people will not go unpunished; anyone trying to do so will face the consequences instantly,” he said.
The Kingdom is proud of its citizens who have been martyred in the course of their noble service of protecting the homeland, he said.
He condemned the deviant elements who killed innocent people.
The vice custodian prayed for the safety and security of the Kingdom from the evil acts of criminals.
The families of the martyrs expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Saudi leadership.
The prince received a number of people injured in the terrorist bombing who had recovered after medical treatment.
He conveyed King Salman’s wishes and prayers for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
He inquired about the status of their health and the medical care they are receiving.
The wounded confirmed their willingness to continue defending their homeland and its people despite their injuries.
They expressed their thanks to the king and the government for their care and attention.
Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khaled, a number of princes as well as both civilian and military officials accompanied the vice custodian.
He later paid an inspection visit to the mosque where the bombing took place.
He performed prayers at the mosque and observed the force and impact of the heinous bombing.
Prince Mohammed stressed that the traces of the inhuman crime, which were still clear on the walls of the mosque, would increase the determination, stability and strength to counter the deviant group which respected neither the sanctity of the place nor that of the worshippers.
He directed that the work of rebuilding and preparing the mosque should begin as soon as possible.
