Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body of Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, organized two fire drills for the seventh consecutive year. Arranged in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Police, and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, the exercises took place over two separate days.
Conducted at the DSOA headquarters building and the Techno Hub 1 building with the participation of employees of all companies at the hi-tech park, the drills tested the efficiency of the existing fire evacuation plans. In addition, they evaluated the preparedness of the safety and security teams in emergency situations while assessing their response time. The organizers enacted a simulated fire incident scenario with fire trucks and ambulances to support the evacuation process and provide a realistic emergency atmosphere.
Bader Al-Mansoory, Associate Director of Operations at DSOA, said: “This is the seventh year that we have organized fire drills as well as safety training sessions for employees, business partners and the wider community at Dubai Silicon Oasis. We appreciate the contribution of the Dubai Government authorities to the success of this program, as well as the great commitment and responsibility demonstrated by our business partners in supporting these exercises.
“DSOA implements a comprehensive CSR strategy based on three main pillars: environment, human capital, and community. In line with this strategy and the growth of the community at DSO, we have taken on the duty of regularly conducting such emergency drills to highlight the importance of establishing and precisely following an evacuation plan. This will continue to ensure the safety of occupants and visitors alike.”
A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises as well as medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
