STC Group CEO Khaled Biyari has been awarded the “Industry CEO of the Year” award in Dubai. The excellence awards presented by the Telecom Review Summit honor the best of the ICT/telecom industry annually.
“Under his leadership, STC has continued to grow and retain profitability,” Telecom Review Summit said in a press release. “Khaled Biyari has made sure that digitization is addressed for the future at STC and that STC will focus on keeping up with the variables of cloud computing, information security, Internet of Things, digital financial services and digital media.”
This year, there were 302 nominations for the Telecom Review Excellence Awards. Winners were chosen based on recognized and demonstrated capabilities in their specific sector by an independent panel of 15 experienced industry veterans. “Telecom Review wants to thank all of the judges who worked tirelessly on reviewing and judging the nominees,” the organizers said.
With headquarters in Riyadh, STC is the largest telecom provider in the Middle East and North Africa based on its market value as it generated over SR51,825 billion ($13,825 billion) in realizable revenue in 2016 and SR8,539 billion as net income.

In Saudi Arabia (the group’s main operation site), STC covers more than 99 percent of the country’s populated areas, in addition to providing 4G mobile broadband to more than 85 percent of the population across the Kingdom.
