ZURICH: Two people were killed in an incident in Zurich’s city center on Friday, police said. They gave no details but said the situation was under control and there was no danger to the public.
Swiss media earlier reported two people were shot near the main train center in Switzerland’s financial capital. Swiss police said they had no indication that the shooting was linked to terrorism.
City police said they rushed to the scene near the central train station after passers-by reported hearing shots on Friday afternoon. Officers found one person dead and a second with serious injuries, who subsequently died.
Police described it as a “violent crime” but gave no further details.
