ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain will pay an official visit to Tajikistan on Tuesday at the invitation of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, Pakistan’s foreign ministry said on Monday.

President Mamnoon will also participate in the high-level international conference on International Decade for Action Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028, beginning in Dushanbe on Wednesday.
This will be the president’s first visit to Tajikistan, the foreign ministry said.
“The conference is being organized by the Tajik government in cooperation with the UN and its entities, particularly the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and other partners,” the statement added.
The conference is the first of a series of conferences that the Tajik government plans to hold on a biannual basis to facilitate the Implementation of New Decade for Water for Sustainable Development.
“The President’s official visit to Tajikistan is reflective of Pakistan’s vision to strengthen relations with neighboring and regional countries and further increasing regional connectivity,” the foreign office said.
