ISLAMABAD: Pakistani superstar Mehwish Hayat revealed she will be part of Angelina Jolie’s upcoming show for BBC World.

‪“Excited that my interview for BBC world will be out soon. Great concept created by Angelina Jolie for the first TV show she is producing,” the actress said on her Instagram account.

Produced for the young audience, the program, BBC My World, is for all those who want to know more about the key stories and issues shaping the world. It aims at countering disinformation and stereotype.

Hayat said she will also address the issue of gender inequality.

In a video interview shared on Instagram, she also spoke about the challenges young people face because of social media, which if used responsibly can yield positive social effects.

“Social media, if used in the right way, can be really helpful, healthy and progressive. It can build people up,” she said.

Hayat is one of Pakistan’s most recognizable and in demand actors with a diverse acting portfolio from television to film, drama and comedy. She has also been recognized by the Pakistani government for her work in promoting the country’s image and decorated for her achievements with state accolade Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2019.

The BBC show will air on Sundays and will be broadcast in 42 languages around the world.
