New ‘powerful’ Hyundai Creta launches in GCC

Hyundai Motor Company has launched its new Creta vehicle in the GCC with a redesigned and more powerful SUV model. Unveiled during a live virtual event, the second-generation Creta has been transformed into the ultimate sub-compact SUV for any terrain.

The fresh-look Creta is more spacious, boasts improved features and utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to meet the complete needs of working professionals, young drivers and families.

Central to Hyundai’s vision of delivering a superior experience is performance and the Creta is installed with highly evolved powertrain engines, bringing incredible power and cleaner emissions.

Bang Sun Jeong, vice president, Middle East and Africa, Hyundai, said: “Developing high-quality vehicles are at the core of our vision and this is reflected with the all-new Hyundai Creta model.

“Since the first model was launched, the Creta has become one of the most popular vehicles and the latest version is set to be a game-changer in the sub-compact SUV segment. From top to bottom, we have crafted the car carefully, pushing the boundaries to ensure that it stands out on the road and is equipped with a wide range of improved features that will deliver even more fun-loving driving experiences.

“Ultimately, the new Creta is like no other vehicle. It’s a true urban crossover with loads of versatility that is modern, sensuous and sporty in design.”

The new model comes with a choice of three engines. The Smartstream G1.5 (maximum power of 115 ps/6,300 rpm and maximum torque of 14.7 kgf.m/4,500 rpm) and the Kappa 1.4T-GDI (140 ps/6,000 rpm and 24.7 kgf.m/1,500-3,200 rpm) are both gasoline engines, providing better fuel economy on the roads.

Offering more choice is the diesel 1.5 U2 VGT (DSL) engine, which has a maximum power of 115 ps/4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 25.5 kgf.m/1,500-2,750 rpm.

Hyundai has made significant improvements to both the interior and exterior, including the size. At 4,300 mm (length) and 1,790 mm (width), the outside of the Creta is 20 mm and 10 mm bigger respectively than the first model.

The masculine personality on the front is reflected through the grille’s bold and rectangular latticework, holding a bigger and more striking H-logo as well as distinctive two-tier headlamps. The addition of sinewy character lines over the clamshell-type bonnet also reinforces the masculine identity.

The quality of the exterior is replicated inside with the increase in size providing more space, comfort and convenience.

Fitted with an 8-speaker Bose sound system, passengers can benefit from crisp audio quality when listening to music on the go.

The premium interior is completed with a multi-functional 3.5-inch TFT LCD cluster and the optional fully digital 7-inch supervision version, delivering information in rich detail with speed and precision.

With the passengers’ safety the utmost priority for Hyundai, the Creta is safer than before. The body structure is made of advanced ultra-high tensile-strength steel, giving it exceptional crash resistance.

Customers can choose from eight color exterior choices — Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Phantom Black, Lava Orange, Red Mulberry, Galaxy Blue and Deep Forest.

Elaa to redefine corporate & government travel in KSA

Seera Group, a travel services company, has announced the launch of Elaa 3.0, a digital travel management solution (TMS) that has been designed to optimize corporate and government travel bookings across Saudi Arabia.

A new dedicated portal has been launched for Elaa, Seera’s travel management company, which enables employees of partner organizations to make all their bookings and travel planning seamlessly without having to go through a tedious and costly manual process. This means reduced cost through higher levels of transparency, predefined policy setting and travel management efficiency.

“Elaa made the most of the downtime caused by travel restrictions during the pandemic by digitizing and simplifying the processes and enabling continuous improvement and innovation for its partner companies across private and public sectors,” a statement said.

The new improved platform can digitally connect everything for customers whilst supporting them in the new normal, as travel management policies, structures and strategies have changed following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Government ministries, departments and corporations with large-scale travel management requirements, can now manage all their requirements through Elaa’s new portal, which is designed as a flexible and scalable booking platform that is easy to navigate and is both time- and cost-efficient.

Abdulrahman Mutrib, executive vice president and group chief technology officer of Seera Group, said: “The new reality has brought a significant change in the travel requirements of corporate and government entities. Travel policies are constantly being updated or reviewed, and only a travel management system that can factor in these changes in real-time can add true value to organizations. Over the past years, we have been investing significantly in digitizing our processes, and we are now ready to offer the next-generation TMS system for our customers.

“The digitization of the processes, end-to-end, will mean less complexities in bookings, easy modifications and changes, as needed, and higher levels of operational efficiency. The automation of travel management, through Elaa 3.0, will lead to not only saving time but also cost advantages for the organization.”

Among the benefits for customers include search, select and booking of employee trips as a self-service, as well as a streamlined and swift digital approval process seamlessly regulated with pre-configured internal travel policies.

“With real-time tracking of booking requests, Elaa 3.0 serves as a revolutionary product in the travel market sector in the Kingdom,” a statement said.

Elaa’s highly secure and automated platform aims to redefine corporate and government travel for the new era. Elaa, meaning “trusted adviser” in Arabic, has activated a suite of internal training programs to familiarize customers on the new models that will be implemented.
