RIYADH, 11 April — A virtual clinic has been launched on the Internet from Riyadh to provide free consultation service to the Pakistani community in medical matters, including kidney, urinary, fertility and diabetic problems, among other things.

“Our virtual clinic is complete. We now have specialists covering major areas of medicine. The site also provides free legal aid to the Pakistanis should they need it to resolve any legal problem back home,” Tahir Butt, the founder of “contactpakistan.com” (CP), told Arab News.

He said the latest to join their panel of medical experts was Dr. Nasir Mahmood, a renowned urology consultant working for the Royal Commission hospital. Any inquiry in this regard could be directed to the CP website address. Besides kidney and urinary bladder problems, Pakistani expatriates could also seek expert advice on problems relating to prostate genital organs, impotence, male infertility, pediatrics, diabetes, surgical complications, cardiological disorder, digestive problems, physical fitness, nutrition and ophthalmology, besides information concerning general medical awareness.

Speaking to Arab News from Jubail, Dr. Mahmood said people who generally feel shy to seek medical advice in person prefer the use of Internet in discussing their problems with experts.

His advice to the people who wish to avoid renal problems is: drink plenty of water to overcome dehydration caused by the Kingdom’s hot and dry climate. They should also learn how to readjust their lifestyle to the environment in which they are living. Butt announced that Pakistan’s leading Supreme Court lawyer, Saeed Ghori, who practices in London as well, has joined Pakistan’s Internet community through CP. He will provide free legal advice at the CP website. “We have already served over 30,000 professional requests during the past two years covering health, legal, student counseling and cooking. It gives us so much satisfaction to serve our community,” Butt said.
