JEDDAH, 19 May — Seven Saudis, convicted of gang rape, were beheaded in Qunfuda, a town in the Makkah region, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday. The offenders “were found guilty of gang-raping their victim under the influence of alcohol and threatening her with knives in an isolated area” in Qunfuda, the ministry said in a statement. The ministry identified the seven as Ramadan ibn Jibran Al-Kaabi, Ahmad ibn Jibran Al-Kaabi, Mushrif ibn Mazaawi Al-Keyadi, Muhammad ibn Omar Al-Keyadi, Ahmad ibn Muhammad Al-Ghanemi, Ibrahim ibn Omar Al-Keyadi and Jabir ibn Muhammad Al-Keyadi. The ministry did not reveal the name, nationality or age of the victim.
Meanwhile, Hamoud ibn Muhammad ibn Ewad Al-Roshaidy and Saud ibn Khuwaitan Al-Roshaidy were executed in Tabuk yesterday after they were convicted of drug trafficking and murdering a drug enforcement officer. The ministry said the two Saudis opened fire on security officers, killing one and injuring three others.
