RIYADH, 7 February — Rift Valley Fever, which broke out in the southern parts of the Kingdom in September, has claimed another life, bringing the death toll to 122, the Health Ministry reported yesterday. In a statement, the ministry said one death and two illnesses from the fever had been reported since Sunday in Qunfuda. A total of 876 people have caught the fever in the Kingdom, of whom 748 have left hospital after treatment. The virus is usually contracted from mosquitoes, or by contact with the blood, bodily fluids or organs of infected animals. (SPA)
