JEDDAH, 17 March — Good news for Calicut passengers. Air-India has increased its nonstop frequency from Jeddah to the most preferred destination in southern state of Kerala from one to three. “The two additional nonstop flights to Calicut are effective from April 4,” A-I Commercial Director V.K. Verma told a press conference at the Jeddah Trident yesterday. With these additional flights, A-I would now have a total of 10 weekly flights from Jeddah to India, said Verma who was accompanied by P.P. Singh, regional director Gulf & Middle East, Riyadh-based Country Manager K.D. Row and Western Province Manager S.M. Mazharullah.
The nonstop flights to Calicut will depart from Jeddah every Tuesday (Dep. 1:00 a.m., arrival Calicut 9:00 a.m.), Friday (12.15 a.m., 8.30 a.m.) and Saturday (10:00 p.m., 6.15 a.m. next day). From Calicut, the flights will depart every Monday (Dep. 5.15 p.m., arrival Jeddah 8.15 p.m.), Thursday (3.35 p.m., 7 p.m.) and Saturday 4.30 p.m., 7.55 p.m.).
