Consulate to host investment seminar

JEDDAH, 26 July — The Philippine Consulate General, in cooperation with Philippine National Bank, Overseas Filipino Workers Cooperative Council (OFWCC) and related government agencies, will host a seminar on investment at Al-Harithy Hotel here on Aug. 9.

Up to 50 participants are targeted for the seminar, which is part of the Philippine government’s reintegration program for OFWs, according to Consul General Kadatuan P. Usop.

“The seminar is open to OFWs who have stayed in the Kingdom for at least five years with interest to invest in any type of business in the Philippines on returning home at the end of their work contracts,” he said.

Speakers at the seminar include Ambassador Bahnarim A. Guinomla (“An overview of economy, business and economic environment in the Philippines”), Dr. Ghazi F.S. Binzagr (“Managing a business enterprise”) Commercial Representative Paisal D. Abdullah (“Investment policy, regulations and procedures in forming business in the Philippines”).

Mustapha Glang (“OWWA entrepreneurship program”), PNB representative Manolo Carandang (“Financing and role of banks, and managing a catering and restaurant business”), and Herminigildo Martos of PICPA (“Importance of project feasibility studies”).

The consul general will provide the overview of the daylong meeting.
