JEDDAH, 30 July — British Airways (BA) is redefining business travel for the 21st century. "We’re launching our biggest ever program of product innovations, both on the ground and in the air. Every cabin has a new look and feel and we think passengers will be delighted with the results. We’ve even created a superb new fourth class which perfectly complements our existing portfolio and offers the cost-conscious business traveler more choice than ever before," Chris Phipps, BA’s country commercial manager for Saudi Arabia told Arab News. According to him, BA’s ‘club world’ is the "only business class" to offer a fully flat bed. "We’ve introduced a completely new cabin and a revolutionary new armchair-style seat complete with footstool. At the touch of a button, the seat transforms into a six-foot, fully flat bed — "a first for any business class." The facility was aimed at offering a proper night’s sleep onboard, Phipps said, adding: "There’s in-seat power for your laptop and your own in-seat phone." Other facilities offered include 10 check-in options from the UK, exclusive lounges in all major airports with business facility, and luxurious new leather seat onboard. "Nothing can quite match the complete privacy of our first class, which is your personal air space, and is equipped with a generous 6.6 feet flat bed," he said. "In other words, BA is revolutionizing the air travel experience." (K.S. Ramkumar)
