Breastfeeding Week from today

JEDDAH, 1 August — “Healthy mother, healthy baby” is the theme of this year’s World Breastfeeding Week that begins today. The week opens with a meeting at King Fahd Hospital’s Research & Postgraduate Studies Center at 11 a.m. “The Kingdom is joining over 120 countries around the world in marking the week to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. This year’s theme is aimed at increasing awareness of breastfeeding among all sections of society,” Dr Maarof Haj Mohideen, coordinator at the center’s Network for Promotion of Breastfeeding, stated yesterday.
