Sununu Becomes GM

Bilal Sununu has been promoted from country manager to general manager of Microsoft Arabia. Commenting on the new appointment, Mohammad Kateeb, regional general manager of Microsoft Middle East said, "Under the leadership of Sununu, we are expecting further growth for Microsoft Arabia. In addition to being an information technology solutions expert, he is also a com-petent administrator and a first rate customer service specialist. Sununu brings a wealth of experience to the business having been a part of Microsoft Arabia for more than seven years now." The local IT community has watched with interest as one of their own has risen through the ranks of the world’s largest software company. Sununu is a first honors graduate from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, with a double major in computer engineering and computer science. "This is a turning point in my career," said Sununu. "There is a lot to be done to contribute to the Saudi market, which has the greatest potential in the Middle East region. Our contribution includes the education, development, and services sectors. Also, we will be working very closely with concerned parties on strategic initiatives that will help in building the infrastructure of the e-government, create more job opportunities for the young Saudi generation, and spread IT knowledge and practice at all levels. I am truly honored to lead this challenge with my colleagues here in the Kingdom."
