RIYADH, 21 February 2003 — The 6th Ladies International Tennis Tournament kicks off Feb. 13th, with Riyadh’s three-time champion Helen Simolde leading the doubles A category, tournament organizers announced recently.
On its sixth year, the annual tournament features players on the distaff side competing in singles and doubles matches. Female participants from all over Riyadh get a chance to show their mettle in four different categories.
The tournament follows that of a knockout system with competitors in A, B, and C categories to allow for more balanced and exciting matches.
Riyadh’s top female players competing in singles A include seeded number one Binky de Leon from King Fahd National Guard Hospital, gritty Helen Flores from King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital, and up and coming Lara Araneta of Security Forces Hospital. Matches will be played in tennis courts in residential compounds and Hospital recreation facilities with the finals set on February 26-27.
Valuable prizes and trophies are at stake in the competition seen to thrill tennis aficionados in the city.

Eugenio, Technical Committee. The 6th LITT is sponsored WRJ Cargo, a door-to-door cargo delivery service, operated by the affable and shrewd businessman William Jao.
