RIYADH, 8 August 2003 — The Naughty By Nature team keglers and Abet Azarcon emerged as the week’s best team and best bowler awardees in the 3rd week of the Filipino Overseas Bowlers of Riyadh (FOBR) Thursday Inter-Commercial Bowling League at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.
Naughty By Nature demolished Perfect 100 team in a 19-2 victory for the week’s best team award. Eden Bergonio posted a series of 806. Dante Cambares (776, Omar Pascual (775), Raul Medina (749) and Larry “pacute” Manalo (705) sparkled.
Rene Tanglao led the Perfect 100 team with 741. Gigi Enriquez (686), Eymard Dimayuga (648), Willy Nogoy (481), Jell Tan (469) and Neil Artus (333) lent support.
The Deer Najd Jewelry recorded a 17-0 victory over D’Famous of Benjie Lorenzo. Abet Azarcon garnered a convincing 835 series. Rolly Montes had 536, Henry Sonias carded 535, Chat Sonias hit 367 and Arnold Bellen sealed 365 in two outings. Joey Rivero had 298 points and Buddy Magsadya and Toti Dapo rolled 173 and 169.
The M.G. Original scored another outstanding victory against the D’Palms (13-7) and the leading point makers for the Original team was Fernie Balano with 768 followed by Marlon Bernabe 712, Edu Fajardo 616, Khom Akbara 390 and Candy Bacala 334.
Leading scorers for D’Palms were Ed Esmana 750, Saju 733, Vic Edan 707, Betsy Costumbrado 685 and Mitos Arellano 630.
The Saudi British Bank edged the Pangasinan Strikers (10-7) and topscoring in the Saudi British Bank were Vic Marzo (722), Bong Rodrigo (714) and Sonny Alviso (685). Lenny Lehiyo and Luis Bonguit had 518 and 498.
The triumvirate of Ronald Bautista (725), Yuli Braganza (720) and Johnny de Asis (718) led Pangasinan. Jun Ego, Ernie Gonzales and Wilson Bacala had a series of 331, 316 and 306.
The FOBR selection prevailed over the defending champion the Pampanga Dragons (10-4). Oca and Ellen Bernabe piloted the FOBR with a separate series of 730 and 724. Rizal Dellosa (691), Rod Tagaban (652) and Abe Abulencia (649) lent support.
For the Pampanga squad Vivian Cuevas (722) battled hard. Babes Nival snatched 657 while Faraj sealed 620 pinfalls. Leo Mabunga collected 589.
Fathi Bowlers tied the Wala Lang 8 all and starring for the Fathi quintet were Cris Crisostomo (731), Vher Cayago (728), Bobby Ferrera (694), Sam Sahagun (514) and Ed Buenaventura (470).
Toto Villalba (720), Larry Mondoy (708), Bobby Santos (690) led the Wala Lang. Miles Rodillas (686) and Ed Tamayo (474) too contributed.
The 1st Conference Thursday Inter-Commercial Bowling League is organized by the new set of officers consisting of Shakur Kamlian-chairman, Egai Asuncion-director for external affairs, directors for internal affairs - Rod Tagaban and Ellen Bernabe, directors for technical affairs - Rommel Romano and Gladys Reyes, directors for membership - Rizal Dellosa and Prima Abulencia, director for finance & sanctioning — Jimmy Ocampo and the secretary-general — Alma Lee.
