JEDDAH, 14 November 2003 — Saudi Arabia’s multi-million riyal Arab fashion sector has received a boost with the opening of Nayomi’s first stand-alone showroom at Tahlia Street on Wednesday night.
“The opening of this store is very significant for Nayomi, as it’s the first of such size and location,” Kamal Osman Jamjoom, chief executive officer of Nayomi said.
Jafar Jamjoom cut the ribbon to mark the formal inauguration. Hisham Al-Amoudi, managing director of Kamal Osman Jamjoom Establishment and a host of other executives including Finance Manager Khalid S. Humoudi, Retail Manager Humeidah Deyab and Ayman M. Al-Arabi, accompanied him.
“Nayomi, a maker of lingerie and nightwear, has grown steadily over the last 10 years and now is one of the leading local stores which showcases wedding gowns and home furnishing accessories brands for the Middle East with its 55 outlets in 22 key cities across the region,” Jamjoom said. “Nayomi is an original, local concept, owned and operated by Kamal Osman Jamjoom Establishment in the Middle East. It has a large presence across the Gulf with stores in the Kingdom, the UAE and Qatar.
“The Kingdom already boasts four Nayomi outlets however the new store is unique, as it focuses specifically on two new categories - bridal and home ranges,” he said, adding that the sets are presented in be-jeweled boxes in keeping with local tradition. The Arousa collection, previewed earlier this month at Nayomi’s autumn winter collection fashion show in Dubai, is also on offer.
According to him, Nayomi bases its growth on its ability to design for regional tastes, producing collections of lingerie and nightwear in the region. “The brand is renowned for its ability to take local colors, textures and fabrics, and fuse these with international trends,” he said.
The launch of the new store coincided with Nayomi’s announcement that it was to offer a limited franchising opportunity in the GCC for the first time.
“As part of our plans for expansion, we’ll be inviting a select few individuals to join our limited franchise operation. Our goal is to develop a presence for Arab fashion in the professional retail market and we feel that this opportunity is a dynamic step toward achieving long-term growth and brand awareness. We’ve traveled a long way over the last 10 years and look forward to sharing this success with some fresh enthusiastic individuals,” he said.
