Microsoft Arabia has kicked off a road show to unveil to the Kingdom’s enterprise and software developers’ segment the newly launched Microsoft Office System. The Microsoft Arabia team will be in Riyadh on Dec. 9 and in Dammam on Dec. 14. To register to attend either event go to www.microsoft.com/middleeast/saudi/english/office/register/.
The new Office System combines applications, servers and solution accelerators to deliver business information to users, at the same time as managing processes and enabling more effective collaboration. Office System integrates different stand-alone applications and activities for front and back end users of information, that improve access to information, allow real-time team working, process management and personal productivity. Increased use of XML enables information and documents created in one Office application to be readily accessible in other Office applications, for better data sharing. Team working is also improved with enhanced support for instant messaging and web conferencing, while Windows Information Right Management (IRM) ensures that shared documents or applications are only available to users with the proper authorization. Microsoft has incorporated enhanced Arabic features into the newly launched Microsoft Office System. These will also be previewed during the presentations.
The new suite includes Arabic-enhanced features, new Arabized applications, as well as Arabic-enabled development tools designed to support both Arabic speaking information workers and developers.
“We are pleased to be able to announce the incorporation of enhanced Arabic features in Office System 2003, as we have rated the language as Tier One for some time,” said Emad Bakilah, desktop products manager, Microsoft Arabia.
“The new Arabic features confirm our commitment to Arabic users both in the region and around the world. This version will iron out many of the Arabic language issues that we identified through customer feedback gathered from the region.”
