RIYADH, 3 May 2004 — The series of terrorist attacks in the Kingdom has increased the demand for security-related products and services.
“Our requests for such security items as access control systems has gone up by 20 percent and for electronic cameras and other surveillance equipment by 15 percent over the last two years,” Jamal Okhla, executive manager of Arab Builders for Security, told Arab News.
He said security consciousness had grown substantially among both government and private-sector organizations.
The demand, he pointed out, had been particularly strong from compounds where Western expatriates live.
In a related development, a spokesman for the National Company for Cooperative Insurance (NCCI), said none of the victims of terrorist attacks in the Kingdom are eligible for compensation for the damage inflicted on their vehicles or property.
