Houbara breeding center aims for 25,000 birds

RAFHA: The Houbara breeding center at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority breeds houbara bustards and reintroduces them into suitable habitats. It supports biodiversity and helps maintain ecological balance across the Kingdom.

The center includes 22 advanced research and veterinary facilities built to international standards, ensuring efficient breeding, high-quality care, and optimal production.

In its final phase, it is expected to house around 25,000 birds, strengthening efforts to protect this vulnerable species and sustain wildlife populations.

Beyond conservation, the center enhances biodiversity, creates local job opportunities, and supports national efforts to preserve natural heritage in line with environmental sustainability goals.
