  • Crown Prince Hussein said US-Iran war must not distract world from situation in the Palestinian territories

LONDON: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Crown Prince Hussein discussed de-escalation efforts in the Middle East with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Berlin on Wednesday.

The meeting also highlighted collaboration across economic, technological, and educational sectors while enhancing cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries, according to the Petra news agency.

Crown Prince Hussein emphasized the need to enhance international efforts to counter Israel’s illegal actions and stop attempts to annex land in the occupied West Bank. He underlined that the conflict between the US and Iran must not distract the world from the situation in the Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.

Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain and Jordan’s Ambassador to Germany Fayez Khouri also attended the meeting, Petra added.

On Monday, Safadi met his Lithuanian counterpart, Kestutis Budrys, during a visit to Lithuania, marking the first trip by a Jordanian foreign minister to the Baltic state.

They also discussed expanding coordination with the EU. Lithuania and Germany are taking part in the Jordan-EU Investment Conference in Amman, which was rescheduled from April to late this year.
