KUWAIT, 19 April 2005 — Kuwaiti singer Nawal is preparing to travel abroad to undergo treatment for her eyes, which give her endless pain. Nawal has refused to hold any television interviews or make any public appearances until she returns from her medical trip.

Previously, Nawal had sought the assistance of a number of Lebanese composers, including Ziab Boutrus and Marwan Khoury during a visit to Beirut in order to study the possibility of adding some songs in the Lebanese accent in her upcoming album. Nawal had attempted to sing in an accent different from her usual Kuwaiti one in her latest album. Nawal sung the song “Bis’aloni Alaik” (They ask me about you) in the Egyptian accent and was able to gain significant success.

Recent rumors say that Nawal is seriously thinking of living in Beirut, and may in fact find a permanent apartment there. She has shot most of her music videos in Lebanon.
