JEDDAH, 11 May 2005 — Roadside repair has existed in countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom for several years, and now this novel service is finally coming to the Kingdom.
The pioneer of this service within the Kingdom is the Shof company. The service which is planned to span from the Kingdom to the Gulf is estimated to cost roughly SR10 million that offers oil and tire changes at any location — all just a phone call away.
Hani Shuaib, the company’s executive manager of, said: “The project is founded on the basis of offering the service of changing car oil and tires for clients/customers at any location, be it at work or at home or any other location. The company has dedicated more than 15 specially prepared vehicles with all the necessary equipment and technology for that purpose.”
Shuaib said the new project would serve to save time that is previously wasted in a car being taken to the car shop; this new service would be more convenient. This would include the change in prices where a customer would only have to pay for the can of oil the car needs.
Shuaib said the new project has received support from Petromin Oils and Lubricants to encourage the new service and this support comes in the form of discounted prices for lubricants.
Shuaib said the first phase of the project would be carried out in Jeddah. If the project proved successful, it would be implemented in the rest of the Kingdom.
