MWL Denies Allegations

MAKKAH, 1 August 2005 — Muslim World League Secretary-General Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki expressed his surprise at the journalist of Philadelphia Inquirer who accused Saudi Arabia of funding madrasas that influenced the four London bombers in Pakistan through its charity institutions. “These allegations are entirely untrue,” he told reporters.

“Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to declare war on terrorism,” he said. “Saudi Arabia has fought and still fights terrorism and terrorists whose criminal activities have led to the deaths of innocent people.”
