ARE you suffering from disturbed sleep? Do you wake up in the morning feeling tired? Do you feel exhausted during the day? Do you have difficulty concentrating? Do you suffer from headaches in the morning? Do you have symptoms that do not go away with therapy? If you have answered “yes” to most of these questions, you might possibly be suffering from the little known “geopathic stress.” One should also be aware that approximately every tenth bed is disturbed by geopathic stress and of this 10 percent, about half of the beds’ occupants are badly disturbed.
The knowledge of geopathic stress goes back to ancient times but it was not until the 1950s that in-depth research was done on geopathic stress. Geopathic stress embraces different phenomena which can be seen or hidden such as grid, water-runs cracks. Dr. Ulrike Banis, a doctor of medicine who also specializes in geopathic stress, explains it as a “sick-making factor coming from the earth.” She acknowledges that up to the 1930s, there was a profound medical knowledge relating geopathic stress to common diseases: “The famous surgeon Professor Sauerbruch kept telling his cancer patients after their operations that after returning home, they should not sleep in the same bed where they had fallen ill. In those times there wasn’t such a gap between university medicine and alternative medicine as nowadays,” she says.
In rural areas where wisdom of the past is still alive, people often led a flock of sheep to a place where a new house was to be built. The house would be erected at the spot where the sheep lay down to sleep. It is common knowledge that certain animals, such as sheep and camels, search for sleeping places that are free of terrestrial radiation, the so-called geopathic stress zones. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also trusted the camel’s instincts as he built the first mosque at the exact spot where it lay down. It should be said that in addition to so-called stress zones, there exists many zones that are good for humans, that boost them with positive energy and neutral zones without any effect at all. It is interesting to know that anthills always indicate the presence of a geopathic stress zone. Cats, bees, snakes and flies are attracted to these zones; dogs on the contrary prefer neutral areas.
The so-called stress zones are zones that can alter the magnetic fields of the earth. “As soon as the magnetic field of the earth is altered in any respect, the changes always go in the direction of more electricity which puts the body under stress. Every single cell of our body has its own electric current, very small, but together with ions, these currents are a part of the information system that keeps our body informed about what’s going on in different organs and parts of them. If another system outside the body produces current at the same time, these external currents will interfere with the proper impulse carriers in the brain. Thus false information will be carried on and this is the bais for disturbed coordination in the body, for malfunctions of the autonomic nerves and mistakes in the cells metabolism,” explains Dr. Banis.
Other factors such as emotional shocks, poisons, certain bacteria in the intestines, a chronic infection of a tooth, chronic infections of the tonsils and many more can also further affect the nervous system. Hidden and chronic infections can weaken the immune system simply because a person cannot increase the number of its defense cells through mere willpower.
Dr. Banis is quick to point out that several factors determine how susceptible we are to disturbing influences: “It depends on our genetic robustness; it depends on the period of time you spend on a disturbed spot, and it depends on various defending factors that are also effective in the body. So, if you have a weak constitution, sleeping on a disturbed spot for more than twenty years, you are far more likely to produce symptoms. Someone who is genetically in a good and healthy condition who lives a successful private life and has a profession he likes, and who only has been on a disturbed spot for a short while is less likely to become ill or produce symptoms.”
Dr. Ulrike Banis has been working in general practice for over twenty years in Switzerland; her search for the causes of her patients’ symptoms led her to investigate family trauma, problems with the patient’s job, emotional conflicts and geopathic stress. She is still fascinated to see how her patients’ symptoms disappear without any further treatment once the bed had been moved. Dr. Banis who also treats her patients with homeopathic remedies is adamant that homeopathy can’t work properly as long as geopathic stress is constantly interfering. She is also critical of the way hospitals are run today. “They are still considered places of physical repair, neglecting the need to digest an illness on the emotional and mental level too. As long as young doctors who still do their training are not allowed to introduce new ideas such as acupuncture or homeopathy into the clinic regime, it will be a long, expensive and strenuous journey to optimal health care.”
