BEIRUT, 20 November 2005 — Lebanese singer Mariam Fares will not appear as expected in the film “Al Harb Al Alamieh Al Thalitha” (World War III), written by Sabri Al-Huwari. She was about to sign the contract when the deal was canceled because of the excessive demands of her business manager. The producer refused to agree to her manager’s demands for $10,000 plus $3,000 for each day that she was filming.
The film is a real-life drama about the possibility of a World War III erupting in the Arab world.
Mariam was to play the role of an Arab woman who befriends foreign soldiers and the role would have been her movie debut.
