BHOPAL, 4 December 2005 — The 57th edition of the three-day annual congregation of Muslims from all over the world began here on the outskirts of Bhopal, at Ghasipura, Eintkhedi village here after Fajr prayers yesterday. In this congregation known as “Aalami Tablighi Ijtema” nearly 300,000 people are attending. The congregation at Ghasipura was first organized at Masjid Shakur Khan in the city in 1948. Later, with increase in the number of devotees, the venue was shifted to one of the largest mosques in Asia, Taj ul-Masajid. However, with the passage of time, the devotees taking part grew in numbers and eventually the venue was shifted to the outskirts of Bhopal.
