JEDDAH, 11 February 2006 — Abdulwahab Al-Faiz has been appointed editor-in-chief of Al-Majalla magazine, in addition to his present job as the editor-in-chief of Al-Eqtisadiah business daily. Prince Faisal ibn Salman, chairman of Saudi Research & Marketing Group (SRMG), took the decision.

“The new appointment comes within the framework of SRMG’s plan to merge editorial boards of publications in order to make optimum use of resources by rationalizing expenditures and avoiding duplication in editorial and technical sections,” the company said in a press statement.

The move follows the merger of the editorials of Arrajol magazine with Asharq Al-Awsat Arabic daily and Al-Jameela magazine with Sayidaty magazine.

Prince Faisal appointed Abdul Aziz Al-Khedr adviser at the group, the statement said, adding that Al-Khedr would continue his contributions to the company by writing for its publications and supervising new publication projects.

The SRMG chief thanked Al-Khedr for his services as editor in chief of Al-Majalla and wished him all the best in his new mission, the statement said.
