Nicole Saba Speaks Frankly About Career

BEIRUT, 4 June 2006 — Lebanese singer/actress Nicole Saba recently appeared on the program “Winta Imrawah” (On Your Way Home) during a visit to Jordan.

During the program, hosted by Mazen Diab, Saba talked openly about her work and personal life.

The singer addressed her career and her transition from a member of the Lebanese band The Four Cats to a solo artist. She discussed entering the acting world through the Egyptian cinema, and now her residence is divided between Egypt and Lebanon.

Diab, known for conducting provocative interviews, stated that Saba paved the way for Arab female singers who aspire to enter the Egyptian cinema.

Saba said that Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam wanted an attractive Lebanese actor to play the leading role alongside him in the film “Al Tajruba Al Dimarkieh” (The Dutch Experience), to attract viewers, and he chose her.

When asked about her seductive role in the film, the singer said, “it was a daring film that called for such scenes.”

Saba has begun shooting her upcoming film “Dastit Ashrar” (A Dozen Evils), written by Khaled Jala and directed by Rami Imam, son of Imam. She revealed that her role is dramatic shift in her career. The film, costarring Mohammad Rajab, Khaled Saleh and Yasmin Abdul Aziz, is a comedy that revolves around a three-member gang that commits robberies and other crimes.
