JEDDAH, 18 June 2006 — MBC 3 is once again launching a second series of the hugely successful reality TV show “Eish Safari”, the first of its kind in the Arab World.
An MBC 3 team began touring the Middle East last week interviewing potential participants between the ages of 11 and 12. The team began their tour in Dubai and then moved to Jordan and is presently in Jeddah meeting youngsters.
Over 63,000 applicants applied to take part via the MBC 3 website. 8,000 youngsters have been chosen for camera interviews from six countries from which 16 lucky youngsters will be chosen by the end of June. MBC 3 will also be visiting Riyadh, Cairo and Casablanca.
Manager of the MBC group for marketing and public relations, Muhammad Al-Mulhim, said that the Eish Safari program proved to be a great success.
Mulhim said that the percentage of viewers watching the program continued rising and reached 30 percent and it was this that caused the channel to decide to launch “Eish Safari 2” to connect with viewers and give them an opportunity to participate in the adventure.
