JEDDAH, 11 April 2007 — Almarai Company generated SR122.9 million consolidated net profit in the first quarter of 2007, an increase of SR32.3 million or 35.7 percent compared to SR90.6 million in the same period last year. The consolidated net sales for the quarter amounted to SR806.9 million compared to SR621.5 million in 2006, an increase of 29.8 percent. The consolidated operating profit also grew substantially by 35.3 percent to reach SR144.6 million versus SR106.9 million for the comparative period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) grew to SR1.13 compared to SR0.91 in the period under review. The first quarter of 2007 data included for the first time the consolidation of the newly acquired entities Western Bakeries Company Limited and International Baking Services Company Limited.
