Sharon Wins Top Position in CBSE Exam

DAMMAM, 27 May 2007 — Sharon Thankam Abraham, a student at the International Indian School in Dammam (IISD), won the highest mark in the commerce group in the annual Class XII examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) among students who appeared for the exam in the Kingdom.

She received 96 in economics, 95 in mathematics, 95 in accountancy, 91 in business studies and 90 in English. “It was a blessing from God,” Abraham told Arab News while speaking about her excellent result. She thanked her teachers and parents for providing her with support and encouragement.

Abraham has been a student of IISD from the UKG level and intends to pursue her higher studies in Kerala to achieve a B.Com. degree.

IISD excelled among international Indian schools in the Kingdom, achieving a 96.8 percent result this year. As many as 306 of 316 its students passed the exam. Its students also won the first four ranks in the Kingdom: Saima Khan achieved 94.4 percent, Farhan Abbas Sayed achieved 94 percent, Sameera Shakir, Sharon Thankam Abraham achieved 93.4 percent and Sarah Khan achieved 93 percent.
