DUBAI, 28 May 2008 — Saudi Arabia’s import of Malaysian palm oil has been increasing. According to latest studies by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), palm oil exports to Saudi Arabia are expected to cross 50,000 tons in 2008.
The optimistic projection offers outstanding opportunities for Malaysian palm oil exporters which participated at the first ‘Malaysia-UAE Palm Oil Trade Fair & Seminar’ (POTS), which was opened on Sunday by Hamad Buamim, director general, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The two-day event, which had been jointly organized by MPOC and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), was running under the theme ‘Exceeding Expectations, Enriching Partnerships’ at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.
Saudi Arabia’s Al-Qassim Food Factory and Savola Edible Oil were among other regional companies which participated in this event.
